China Everbright Limited, a Hong Kong-based financial services company in asset management, investment and merchant bank in the Greater China region, continues its corporate social efforts.
Everbright’s corporate volunteer team visit to show love and care to underprivileged families in the Hong Kong community. Last month, the team jointly organized the event “Easter Egg Creation Activity” with a local NGO, “Yum Cha Together” at Sham Shui Po (South) Integrated Family Service Centre of International Social Service Hong Kong Branch.
Coming from single-parent families, new immigrant families or low-income bracket in Sham Shui Po district, the children at the centre have very limited chance to join extracurricular activities. The main activity at the event is designing the Easter eggs and having Chinese Dim Sum meal together, aiming to boost children’s communication skills and let them experience the festive spirit of Easter.
In terms of encouraging the employees to get involved in more volunteering services, Everbright’s volunteering team aims to provide a healthy and safe working environment and promoting work-life balance to the employees. Chief Operating Officer of Yum Cha Together said, “I hope that Everbright will continue to support community services and expand into different communities, in order to bring more joy and laughter to children in every family in Hong Kong”. To foster stronger corporate social contribution, corporates are recommended to expand their effort to diverse communities along with the constancy and frequency of corporate-level volunteering activities.
